ME! I am an artist, designer and poet living in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. I studied Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design at Leeds College of Art (now Leeds Arts University) After graduating in 2012, I spent a year serving the local church doing student and community work, then moved on to work as a technology technician in a secondary school. I then took a long break (6 years!) to raise my two little babes, who are not so little anymore. During this time, I set up the Leeds branch of the nationwide charity, Baby Basics, where I was volunteer centre manager for 6 years. Once both my kids were in school I went back to work (paid work, definitely felt like I was working all along!) as the Children & Families worker at St Paul's Church, Ireland Wood. After 3 and a bit years, I felt God calling me to make a change, and I needed a break! So at the start of 2025 I dove head first into making this business something real! Art has been a hobby for the last 13 years, and now I have the chance to use my skills to make the world a little bit more beautiful. I love God, my husband, my 2 kiddos and 2 cats! I'm a bit animal crazy, I love to sing, dance and practice martial arts, I have a soft spot for anything French, and a weird level of romanticism about train tracks and bridges....! MY WORK! I work across many mediums; collage, acrylics, murals, and textile design. My art practice is firmly rooted in my faith in Jesus - it brings me joy and hope, and I hope it can do the same for others. I want my artwork to encourage people, and connect with them on a deeper level so that they feel seen and known. I will often use words and poetry alongside my art work, another layer of beauty and connection for the viewer. I have done a lot of work with people of all ages through my past roles, building community and relationships of trust. I love that art can be used as a tool for spiritual and emotional healing, and so hope to be able to work alongside others and inspire people to use creativity as a form of self-expression and growth. My hope is this: To speak life and love into hearts and homes. I hope and pray that people experience that life and love through viewing and owning my artwork. |
